When I first heard that Juni is interested in ballet, I was supportive despite the fact that it isn't something I would have picked for her if it were just up to me. I asked her what she wanted for her birthday, and she said "ballerina", as if I'd asked her what she wanted to be for Halloween. I asked her what she meant by ballerina and she said ballet shoes. She has a friend from school and also a separate neighborhood friend who are both interested in ballet and have ballet slippers. We had been invited to go to a ballet class with her preschool classmate last month, but the day didn't work for us. Last week we went to the dance shop and got her a pair of slippers. Today, she went to her first ballet class and she LOVED it. I was surprised at how well she did following the teacher's instructions. I also got to see the times that she didn't pay attention, and the teacher had to address her individually to bring her back to the class. It was so fun to watch! Hope you enjoy the pictures I took. Juni says, "I wanna go again!"
