Sunday morning

Juniper has another tooth on top. Grand total of teeth poking through the gums is 6. They are all front teeth with 2 on top and 4 on the bottom. She was in pain daily for over a week, since 3 new teeth came in within one week. We tried giving her the homeopathic remedy for teething that you can buy in drug stores, but she developed a hive on her face so I think she is allergic/sensitive to it. After that we have just stuck with using ibuprofen to relieve her pain as needed and it seems to help. Aunt Squishy said she noticed a dramatic improvement in Juni's mood 20 minutes after taking the medication.

We went to the pediatrician's office on Friday and Juniper weighed 18 lb, 12 oz (that's in the nude, so with clothes on she's about 20 lbs). She is 29 inches long and head circumference is 44.1 cm. Her weight is in the 50th percentile, height in the 90th and head circumference is in the 55th.

In other news, I seem to have lost my point-and-shoot digital camera. That is the one that we use to take videos. I'm still hoping to find it somewhere, but it has been a couple of weeks now. So mostly we are using our iPhones to take pictures. And I still have another nice digital camera for special occasions, but it doesn't take videos.

Top tooth

Baby has her top right front tooth peeking through the gums. Now it makes sense why she was harder to soothe today and sleeping less soundly the last two nights. It is always something, with this little human. Infancy is serious and steady work.

I missed her a lot more this week, and felt less than thrilled about going to my job. Could be partially because I was bummed that one of my favorite clients passed away. That happens often when you work with elders, but I'm not used to it yet. I look at Juniper and I'm reminded of the cycle of life. Birth is the leading cause of death. (I read that quote on my friend's facebook page but I don't know who said it.). I am grateful to be alive and to be witnessing Juniper's rapid growth. She is stronger with her grip and able to reach further when she wants something. She is not yet crawling and we are enjoying her in this stage.

Tennis

Bob said, "Western grip just like Daddy". She was sitting on the counter while I did some dishes and Bob compared her grip on the wooden spoon to a grip on a tennis racket.

Playard

We transformed the co-sleeper into a play pen today, or "playard" as it is called. Juniper seemed to like it. She was interested in the mesh walls.
