Dressing herself

It made me laugh this morning to see that Juni had put both of her arms through the neck hole instead of the sleeves of her shirt.

Playground fun

Here's Juniper with her neighborhood friend who she met over the Summer. They have loads of fun playing together--they can just look at each other and start giggling. It is fun for me to watch them enjoy each other's company. We met up at the park on Sunday and it was a relaxing afternoon.

Fairfax Picnic

We happened upon this outdoor festival in Fairfax. There was a Beatles cover band for dancing, and this nice stack of hay to sit on. What a lovely Sunday.

You can see her doll "New York Minnie" sitting next to her. Minnie is one of her favorite friends, and has been traveling everywhere with us lately. "Where's Minnie?!?!" is a question you really don't want to hear in our house unless you know the answer. : )

Neighborhood walk on Saturday

Juni came down with a fever on Friday morning. She was sick all day Friday and Saturday. We stayed indoors with the exception of one long walk with our little family around the neighborhood. We walked up some hills with her in the backpack carrier. Bob and I both shared the load, but I wore the back pack more often because of her preference for Mommy especially when she is not feeling well. The fresh air did us all good and it was a very nice time.

Mill Valley visit on Thursday

Thursday night Juni and I took a short drive to Mill Valley Public Library. What a nice place! It is surrounded by redwood trees and it is a beautiful building inside with tall, wood lined ceilings. We went there to borrow a book-on-CD that I wanted for a book club I'm joining. The actual book is checked out of all the nearby libraries, so I decided to listen to it read by the author to start. While we were there, I brought Juni to the children's section and she loved it. She took book after book off the shelves and flipped through the pages. I picked some and she picked some to take home with us. I think we brought home 8 or 9 picture books. After leaving the library, we went to the park and playground next door to the library. It is a beautiful redwoods grove and the playground had some fun and new-to-Juni activities to play. She befriended a couple of boys and had a great time climbing and going down the slide with them. I am pleased with how we had so much fun on a Thursday evening without spending any money (other than gas). Public libraries are awesome! As are public parks. We are lucky.

Daddy's go-too

Dragon climber

She climbed this dragon all by herself. She was so proud. She did it 4 times before wanting to move on to the swings.

Cute in her dress

We brought Juni with us to the wedding rehearsal of our friends. It is in this beautiful, peaceful Redwoods Grove. She enjoyed hanging out among the tall trees.

After lunch bliss

Just finished eating a big lunch. The last grape you see in the bowl--she ate that, too. Played at the park with a lot of other girls her age this morning and worked up an appetite so she ate well for lunch. We were lucky to go to the park at the same time as a play group of moms with 2 year old girls. Juni is learning to take turns, an to interupt her play time for potty breaks.

Happy Friday

A nice morning at the park. Juni is potty trained! She's been out of diapers for over 3 weeks now. We are very happy about this mile stone. It is much easier for us now.
