Here she is, taking a break to pose for the camera while getting ready for bed. She's got her nightime diaper on, which for us means 2 cloth diapers plus the diaper cover, so her bottom is bulky. She moves around pretty well, though, even with the extra layer. She is very close to crawling. Every day she gets better at rocking herself forward from a sitting position and briefly holding herself up before flopping on her belly and waving her legs and arms as if she's swimming.

Her naps have decreased from 3 or 4 per day to about 2 per day. She has started showing us the sign for "milk" (American Sign Language). Although she did the milk sign on Monday when I waved good-bye to her, so at first we thought that was her wave. She opened and closed her hand toward herself near her mouth. Since then she seems to do that when she wants milk, so we are still figuring out how to interpret her signing and also still teaching her the distinctions. She is also still learning the different words and meanings. It is fun! We have been so excited about this new way to communicate. (We have a DVD and book by Garcia to give us basic tips for teaching baby to sign.) This week was the first time that she has clearly been signing back to us. Thanks to Aunt Squishy who has been a great teacher!
